The Caramoan Experience: last day

On our last morning in Caramoan, we woke earlier than usual to prepare our things. After breakfast, we were to head back to Naga. Once in Naga, we went to this Deer Farm. I was very excited to see deer!! Actually, it never occurred to me that there were deer in the country. They were very beautiful to look at and good to touch. Most are elusive and go scurrying once we walk toward them. But there are also some who are nice enough to come near us and let us pat their heads. It was almost noon and there were barely a tree in the farm so after quite some time, we headed back to the car to eat our lunch in our next stop. Before we reached the restaurant, we stopped to grab some snacks in this store offering toasted siopao. Our guide told us that the store and their products were famous in the area especially to the tourists who are used to steamed siopao. The breads they sell were also cheap.

After lunch we headed to the famous Camsur Water Complex or CWC to do some wakeboarding. As expected, there were many foreigners in the complex. Most of the ones I’ve seen riding the waves were foreigners. It was almost three in the afternoon and our guide told us that we would be leaving around 4 pm, so I decided to just watch others ride their boards. Some of my friends decided to try though the time was limited. We watched them being taught to ride unfortunately, only a couple of them learned. But it was a funny and nice experience. There was also pools in the complex aside from the two used for wakeboarding. The place was big with a variety of accommodations to choose from. There were huts, cottages and trailers to stay in and according to the brochure, they are being offered at a considerably low price. They are also offering foods and other services like massage. The fee for the wakeboarding was also low so some of my friends were really disappointed when they were not able to try the sport. It was past five when we left CWC and we were in a great hurry because the bus was coming soon. We stopped briefly in a souvenir store, headed to SM Naga to buy our food and then traveled back home.

The Caramoan Experience: day 2

The next morning, we woke up early because we were supposed to visit a cave. It was named Umang Cave because of the hermit crabs that live inside it. We climbed this steep path to reach our destination. The inside of the cave was not that big and we were not allowed to go to most parts of it so most students were only crowding the entrance. I liked the rock formations inside, though. They let us climb easily in the higher parts of the cave until our guide told us to climb no more. Our next destination then was this island very far from the resort. The travel though was worth it. The water in the ocean was so clear you can see the corals under. If not for the way our navigator drives the boat, I’ll way that the trip was perfect. The island has this long stretch of white sand. The water is also shallow allowing us to go a little farther to the sea. The waves here were much gentler than in the other islands. We just lay there on the water and wait for lunchtime to come. Aside from our group, I noticed only two other group of friends in the island. We were able to keep the place to ourselves. After lunch we headed to the fifth island. The place was called Manlawi Island and it was the biggest sandbar in the Philippines. The vast stretch of sand here is a lot wider than in the previous island. My friends and I were resting in the water about a hundred feet away from the main island but the water is still as low as our ankles! It was really beautiful. We were on our stomach, lying on the sand. The heat became a little too much so we looked for a place to stay. Unfortunately, the only places that will keep you from the sun were the cottages placed in the water. And what’s worse is that there is a fee collected in order to use the huts and we didn’t have money with us. We then decided to stay near our boat. It’s rude to say but the vendors in the area are kind of irritating. They keep persuading us to buy the shells that they were selling. The shells and clams, I’ll admit were beautiful and cheap but since we did not bring money, we can’t do anything more than admire them. Our last stop was this island called Sabitang Laya, a pyramid shaped island with two kilometers of white sand. We just stayed for about thirty minutes in there. Again, there was not much to do so I was glad when our guides called for us to go back to our boats.

Once back in the lodge, my friend and I went to look for souvenirs in three different stores. We were able to choose and buy cheap but nice stuffs like t-shirts, bracelets, pouches and key chains. One of my friends also bought sweets. After having a shower and eating dinner, we went strolling outside the lodge. The streets were dark but not scary since there were residents staying outside their houses. The locals are friendly and hospitable. When we greet them, they greet us back. We also went star gazing. Since the area was dark, it was easy for us to see the stars above. It was perfect.

The Caramoan Experience: day 1

Caramoan is more or less 10 hours away from Quezon City- eight hours by land and then two hours by sea. Still, the long bus ride and the undeniable pain in my butt from seating for hours were worth it.  After arriving to Naga Terminal, we headed to the port which was almost an hour away from the terminal. There we have to travel by see to the island where we would stay. Once on the boat, you can see the mini islands and rock formations dotting the ocean. It was my first time seeing a scene so fascinating. I was truly amazed. Even though it nine in the morning, the heat was mild. It is not scorching like the one we feel here in Manila. The weather was nice, the wind refreshing. The sea was also calm so I was not disturbed by the thought of being sea sick. Everything was perfect during the boat ride except when the waves started to rise a little bit higher and the water splashed in our faces and drenched our clothes. Even though we were soaking wet, we did not mind because our attention was fixed on the scenery before us. We can see white sand beaches in some of the islands and we were all very excited to feel the powdery sand in our hands.

After two hours, we arrived at Paniman bay. The smell of sea is very strong, we crunched our noses. The port was simple. I was disturbed by all those men appearing to get our luggage, though. They were all scurrying to get us out of the boat then running inside to get our bags. I thought they were like the kiosk vendors in FC, very eager to go after customers. Unfortunately, some of the bags were just dumped on the ground after they were brought. We then rode towards our lodge. Some rode the jeepney, some a van and others, including me, rode this cool looking tricycle. It was much bigger than those we see here in Manila and can seat up to eight passengers! I thought, they really did maximize the trike. Along the way, rice fields can be seen. There was also a river which I guess is where the paddies’ supply of water comes from. The road was kind of steep which is somehow scary and dangerous especially if you are riding an 8-passenger tricycle. I felt as if we were going to fall in the cliffs by the side of the road every time there were sharp curves. At last, we reached our destination. It was a lodge by the side of the beach. The place was not that big but was able to house us.

The food they prepared in the lodge all throughout our stay, I noticed, were delicacies famous in their place like the Bicol express which is a lot different from the one we eat in Manila. There was also scallop which I’ve just tasted once in CASAA.

After lunch, we were all ready for the island hopping. There was a briefing before we rode the boat once again. Our guide told us about some facts about the island. One of them is about the international show, Survivor held in the island more than once. I guess this is one of the reasons why the island was famous. On our first day, we were able to visit three islands. The first one for me was the most beautiful. The sand was really fine it takes a lot of effort to remove it once it sticks to your body. It was also white; my legs looked like espasol with it. Earlier, our guide told us that they had a visitor before who told them that the sand in Caramoan was finer than in Boracay. There was also this lake at the other side of the island famous for its legendary Bangus. Visitors fall in line and climb the steep rocks to get a glimpse of the enchanted fish. After quite some time, we headed to the next island. This second one is also beautiful but not as much as the first one. The sand is not as fine. We took pictured and rest at spot away from other visitors. I noticed that the visitors in the second island were families. Unlike in the first one where there were group of middle-aged friends and also foreigners. We then had our merienda and afterwards headed for our last stop for that day. Frankly speaking, in the third island, my friends and I were already starting to get bored. There were little differences between the three islands. Actually, the only difference I’ve noticed was the shape of the island and the sand. Aside from that, they were pretty much the same. There was also nothing to do in the island. We just took pictures and sat in the shallow part of the water waiting for our guides to call it a day. We then headed back to the resort, ate our dinner and settled for the night.

magulo

negative externality

"An externality arises when a person enganges in an activity that influences the well-being of a bystander but neither pays nor receives any compensation for that effect. If the impact on the bystander is adverse, it is called a negative externality."

I won't give up ba ang peg mga ate??!!!

fun fun fun!!

Halooo!!! Wanna share with you guys the website that my friends and I created for one of our classes..

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Villa-Jose-Maria-Waterpark-and-Resort/217049475102640?fref=ts

Oh yeah!! Sa akin pala ipinangalan tong resort!! hahaha...kinidly visit and like..pseudo resort lang siya pero ang fun lang talaga niya gawin lalo na kapag may mga friends ako na nagtatanong kung saan ito, if sa family ko ba ito, and kung totoo ba siya?hahaha...

no energy, tired, pagod

kung meron mang isang word to describe my day, syempre yun ay walang iba kundi PAGOD. Dadating ka ng 4.30 ng umaga from OCLA, Tapos instead na magpahinga, derecho aral ka for an exam later the same day. Oo, may exam kami. And to top it all, yung feeling ang dumi dumi ko!! Before yun umalis ng resort.

First time ko mag-travel ng ganoon kalayo. XD

sakura

cherry blossom is the flower of any of several trees of genus Prunus, particularly the Japanese Cherry, Prunus serrulata, which is sometimes called sakura after the Japanese (桜 or 櫻; さくら).

FUUUUDDDDGGGGGEEEEE!!! This flower is really cute!! Actually, this is the only reason why I want to visit Japan or Korea someday.I wanna try attending the cherry blossom festival while wearing the traditional Japanese kimono or yukata. I also want to experience the cherry blossom viewing. I want to try sitting under a sakura tree while holding hands and staring in the eyes of my the one. Chos!! Haha...Actually I don't care who I am with or if I have a companion. As long as i'll be able to see and touch those pinkish and cute little sakuras, I'll be fine!! Actually, more than fine....

And so, as part of my being a sakura lover, I decided to make these not-so cute but still acceptable cherry blossom origami.

I'll try posting the instructions on how to make one or a video about this....hmm...nice isn't it??
WATASHI WA SAKURA GA DAISUKIDESU!!!  >///<

crush

Ay mali..elementary pa lang pala ako nung una kitang na-meet. elementary as in grade one elementary. I mean, sa amin pala.

Ang hirap kasi talaga kapag bata, no?
